Annual Prize Distribution

Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony of Govt. Sr. Sec. School Raipur Khurd U.T. Chandigarh was held on 26.02.2015. Prizes for various activities under Eco Club, Maths Club, Science Club, House Activities and CWSN were distributed. SMC members were also invited on the occasion. Winners of all the activities held during the last year were awarded. The school Principal Mrs. Neena Kalia addressed the students and encouraged them to perform even better in the coming year.

Mock Drill

Mock Drill Committee of GSSS, Raipur Khurd organized mock drill regarding disaster management. The main purpose of this drill was to aware the students as well as staff members on how to save themselves and others in case of any emergency. Students of classes 7th to 12th participated in this drill. Students and staff members benefited a lot from this drill. The school also invited Dr. Monika Kaushal from Govt. Dispensary, Sector 19 to provide training to staff members in first-Aid. The doctor guided the teachers with the help of demonstration techniques how to provide first-aid to the students in case of minor injuries, epilepsies, fractures etc. The school Principal Mrs. Neena Kalia appreciated the Medical Guidance provided by the doctor and efforts of disaster management committee. No Tobacco Day

No Tobacco Day was celebrated on 31.05.2014. in GSSS, Raipur Khurd, U.T. Chandigarh to make the children aware about the harms of chewing and smoking tobacco. In the present scenario, youngsters are getting attracted towards harmful drugs. To save the students from such bad habits, efforts were made on this occasion of No Tobacco Day. Some students gave speeches. Poster-making competition was held on the theme “Say No To Tobacco” A small play was enacted by the students to spread the message that tobacco and other drugs are slow poisons. Poetry Recitation on the similar topics was also a part of the event. The school principal Mrs. Neena Kalia inspired the students to avoid the use of drugs, take healthy diet and become ideal learners, ideal children of their parents and ideal citizens of the society.20140531-05320140531-006

“Disability Awareness and Screening Camp”             

Govt. Senior Secondary School, Raipur Khurd.

The Regional Institute for Mentally Handicapped, Sector-31, Chandigarh in collaboration with Umeed Society organized a one day “Disability Awareness And Screening Camp” at the Govt. Senior Secondary School, Raipur Khurd on 30.05.2012 under the able guidance of Prof. B.S. Chavan, Joint Director RIMH. D.E.O. Chandigarh Administration, Sh. Ram Kumar Sharma inaugurated the camp.

 Annual school prize distribution function was held on 23rd Feb2013. The main events covered for which the students were facilitated  are spoon racing, speech contest , Quiz contest , fancy dress competition etc.The school SMC members and the school CRCC were among the invitees.

During the session 2012-13, our school participated in science fair under the guidance of Principal Mrs. Neena Kalia. Our esteemed teachers were Mrs. Promilla, Mrs. Nidhi, Mr. Pankaj Chohan and Mrs. Deepali Bansal. Twelve students were selected to participate for six models under different themes in science fair at SIE, Sec-32, Chandigarh. Mathematical modeling was also one of the assigned categories of exhibits. Its First round was held on 9th Nov. 2012. Four out of six models were selected for the final round.The final round was held from 3rd December to 7th December 2012 at SIE Sector-32, Chandigarh. Our school was adjudged 1st in one category and 2nd in other two categories.

Participation in various co-curricular activities

Athletic meet conducted for special children held at sports complex, sec-7 Chd, on 14th to 15th Dec, 2012 and won 8(eight) Gold, 1(one) Silver and one(Bronze medals).

National Level Participation at Haryana by two school boys for Dodge Ball Tournament in Feb.2013.

State level participation at Dev Samaj School, Chd. for Dodgeball and secured Gold Medal by U-19 boys.

Inter School Dodge ball Tournament participation at GMSSS-20 and Secured Gold medal by U-17 Boys.

Secured Bronze Medal by U-17 Boys.

Secured Bronze Medal by U-19 Girls. 

Inter School Boxing Tournament at S.D. Public School-32, Chd and Secured 3 Bronze medals by Boys and participation by Girls team. 

Gully Cricket Tournament at Chandigarh organized by Chandigarh Traffic Police 

World Tourism Week on 17th Sep.2012, Poster Painting Competition at Rock Garden Ph-3 Chd. 

On 23rd Aug. 2012, State Level Painting competition for the states of Punjab, Haryana & U.T Chd.  Organized by BBMB for Painting competition on Energy Conservation 2012.

On the spot Painting Competition & Declamation Contest at Sai Old Age Home Sec-30 Chd. on 06.10.12.

19th Nov. 2012 ‘National Integration day’.

‘National Integration pledge’ was taken by the students during the morning assembly. Apart from this speech on ‘National Integration’ was given by a student and by a teacher.

20th Nov. 2012 ‘Welfare of Minority Day’.

Speech about the Prime Minister’s 15 point programme for the welfare of minorities was given by a student in morning assembly. Apart from that speech about the same was also given to students of 10th class by Sst. Teacher.

21st Nov. ‘Linguistic Harmony Day’

“Kavi Sammelan” was organized in morning assembly appreciating the linguistic heritage of the country.

22nd Nov. 2012, ‘Cultural Unity Day’

A cultural function was organized presenting the Indian Tradition of Unity and for the promotion of cultural integration by performing group song, group dance, poem recitation etc.

24th November 2012, ‘Women Day’

Speech about the importance of woman and their role in nation building was given by the students and by the teachers in morning Assembly.

25th Nov. 2012, ‘Conservation Day’

A speech, a poem and group song activities were performed in the morning assembly emphasizing the growing need for conservation of environment.
